What is ESA BIC Sud France?

ESA BIC Sud France is the first French incubator of the European Space Agency (ESA), created in 2013. It aims to support innovative start-ups in the space sector, exploiting space technologies or developing space-derived applications for various sectors such as health, agriculture, security or mobility. Coordinated by the Aerospace Valley competitiveness cluster, in partnership with CNES and the SAFE cluster, it brings together seven regional incubators to offer local support to start-ups.

 

The ESA BIC Sud France offer

Joining ESA BIC Sud France means benefiting from a complete incubation program over a period of 6 to 24 months, including:

Support : technical support by CNES, ESA and their partners, and business mentoring provided by member incubators.

Financing : benefit from a €25k grant, be advised on public or private financing and access investors.

Content and networking : you will be regularly invited to participate in workshops and events, you will be informed about opportunities to come together with the local, national and European community and ecosystem, as well as internationally.

Visibility : opportunities to pitch your solution to the ecosystem will be offered to you at major events. Visibility via social networks will also be offered to you.

Eligibility criteria

  1. The company was created less than 5 years ago.
  2. Prove your connection to the space industry.
  3. Be eligible for a public subsidy of at least 25K (BPI or regional grant).
  4. Be on the territory of ESA BIC Sud France and supported by an incubator.

How to apply ?

To apply for the ESA BIC Sud France, it is necessary to contact a partner incubator or the ESA BIC Manager in order to discuss your project and check your eligibility. Then, you will have to write and submit an application file before the deadline, detailing your project, its link with the space sector and your development plan. Finally, your application will be evaluated by a selection committee, which meets quarterly to choose the start-ups that will join the program.
