Drones Sector
In light of the speed at which technologies are evolving and the proliferation of drone usage, the Cluster will continue its efforts launched in 2022 with a focus on three major challenges:
- Strong societal expectations in terms of acceptability (noise, individual freedom),
- Confirmed environmental commitment in terms of innovative solutions to fight pollution, climate change and its natural catastrophes and protection of biodiversity.
- Critical regulatory requirements in terms of compliance and safety. A genuine milestone to overcome for some organizations, European regulations now provide a harmonized framework for UAV operators and manufacturers facilitating implementation of drones for simple air operations. Progress has been made in UAV certification but the path has been fraught with technical and economic hurdles with which the cluster must help its members: identifying expertise and funding, training assistance, and sharing best practices….
