SURVEY – Mapping of European Earth Observation climate services

Aerospace Valley is involved as a partner in the European project PROTECT (HORIZON EUROPE) launched in June 2022.

The objective of the PROTECT project is to enable European public authorities to share their common needs for innovative climate services to prepare joint pre-commercial procurement and accelerate their capacity to implement European Green Deal objectives.

To provide an overview of the state of the art and the climate services under development, the PROTECT project is launching a survey to identify innovative climate services that could be the subject of joint pre-commercial procurement in 2024.

 

The initial focus is on five encompassing application domains:

  • Energy and Utilities
  • Sustainable urban communities
  • Marine and coastal environment
  • Agriculture, Forestry and other Land use (including bioeconomy)
  • Civil Security and Protection

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The consortium is looking for:

Innovative services using environmental observation data addressing the needs of public authorities regarding climate adaptation and attenuation.

Each providers pre-identified will have the chance to be referenced in PROTECT project catalogue and might have the opportunity to present their services in front of participating public buyers in the frame of an Open Market Consultation (online pitching sessions)
