PRESENTATION

Placed under the high patronage of Alain Rousset, president of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, this agreement falls within the scope of the objectives of the partnership contract signed at the SOFINS show in April 2019 between the Region and the DGA (Directorate General of Armaments) through setting up creative approaches to stimulate stakeholders in the civil and military ecosystem.

The objective of the Aliénor cluster is to detect, guide and experiment with the innovations carried out by regional players to promote the development of new technological solutions for aerospace defence, in conjunction with the Defence innovation agency.

Based in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region near Bordeaux, it will benefit from the rich local industrial and academic ecosystem in the aerospace field, while remaining open to partnerships with stakeholders in other regions of France. Its mission will be to lead and bring together all the regional stakeholders and especially SMEs, Very Small Companies and start-ups. It will bring together researchers in the territory (University of Bordeaux, ENSAM…) and will coordinate local initiatives in particular by working with the region.

Aliénor is co-chaired by the director of the DGA missile Testing center of expertise , and the president of Aerospace Valley, and its steering committee including a representative of each founding member.

Aliénor is part of the global efforts of the Ministry of Armies to support supporting innovation, coordinated by the defence innovation agency in  close cooperation with the DGA.
