Un potentiel scientifique de très haut niveau L’Université Toulouse Capitole est reconnue tant au plan national qu’international dans les domaines de la recherche du droit, de l’économie, de la gestion, mais aussi des mathématiques, de l’informatique, de l’information et communication, et des langues appliquées à ces disciplines. L’obtention du prix Nobel d’économie par Jean Tirole, en 2014, était une reconnaissance scientifique doublement confirmé par le classement thématique de Shangaï 2017 (l’université, avec sa composante Toulouse School of Economics, est le seul établissement français à figurer dans le top 50 mondial de la catégorie «Sciences sociales-Économie») et le renouvellement du label Centre d’excellence Jean-Monnet (seul centre français parmi les 16 décernés en Europe). Maintenir cette stratégie d’excellence scientifique est prioritaire, l’objectif principal est de favoriser le développement de la communauté scientifique en valorisant le travail des chercheurs associé à une politique de recrutement plus motivante (25 % sont recrutés à l’étranger). Parmi ses 12 unités de recherche : une est associée au CNRS et à l’INRA, 3 au CNRS, 3 sont des équipes transversales entre différents établissements de la région. Highly advanced scientific potential L’Université Toulouse Capitole is both nationally and internationally renowned in terms of research in law, economics and management, as well as in mathematics, computer science, information and communication, and languages. The Institution’s international reputation for excellence has been confirmed by the awarding of the Nobel prize in Economics to Jean Tirole in 2014, followed by its 2017 Shanghai ranking (L’Université Toulouse Capitole, with the Toulouse School of Economics, is the only French academic institution to be ranked in the top fifty institutions in the world in the category of Social Sciences and Economics). Once again, it was accredited as a Jean-Monnet Center of Excellence (the only French Center to earn this label among the 16 awarded in Europe). Maintaining this strategy of scientific excellence is a priority. To this end, the Institution is committed to fostering the development of the scientific community by valorizing the work of researchers coupled with an ambitious recruitment strategy (25% of faculty are recruited internationally). Among the University’s 12 research units, one is jointly associated with CNRS and ONERA, 3 with CNRS, and 3 are cross disciplinary teams involving different scientific institutions in the region.
