Seule technopole en France thématisée Aéronautique- Spatial-Défense, Bordeaux Technowest possède sur le parc technologique Bordeaux Aéroparc un incubateur-pépinière d’entreprises innovantes, deux centres d’affaires et un service de développement et d’animation économiques. Outre cette thématique historique, Bordeaux Technowest accompagne les start-up dans 6 autres domaines d'activité stratégiques (Eco-activités, Smart City & Mobilité, Bâtiment intelligent & immobilier, Commerce connecté, Énergies et FoodTech), avec en tout 8 sites répartis sur la Métropole bordelaise et au-delà. Pour accompagner ses start-up, la technopole a développé ses propres outils avec notamment « Techno’Start », son propre fonds d’amorçage, et « B’Inc », un prêt d'honneur en partenariat avec le CMSO. A l’origine de la filière drones, Bordeaux Technowest soutient ce secteur d’excellence avec un salon bi-annuel « UAV SHOW » et la société CESA Drones qui exploite plusieurs zones d’essais de drones. Bordeaux Technowest a également mis en place un colloque « MediSpace » consacré au transfert des technologies spatiales vers le secteur médical.
The Bordeaux Technowest Science and Technology Park supports innovative projects and start-ups in seven areas. Our business incubator for innovative companies, based in Merignac within the Bordeaux Aéroparc (aeronautics technology park), is the first in France to specialize in ASD. The Bordeaux Technowest is at the forefront of the UAV industry in France. In 2009, we set up the drone testing area on the Souge compound in Martignas-sur-Jalle. Today the CESA Drones company, in which Bordeaux Technowest is the majority shareholder, operates three main test areas. Since 2010, Bordeaux Technowest has organized the UAV SHOW, the first European trade fair for civilian drones. The fair, which has become a key event in the sector, aims to bring together manufacturers and users of drones in Europe to network them and help develop this sector of excellence as a source of business. Bordeaux Technowest has also set up the "MediSpace" congress, dedicated to the transfer of space technologies to the medical sector.
